In August 2023, we took part in the "Expedition project Retail.ru 2023". During one month, the project team has covered thousands of kilometers to see with their own eyes how retail trade lives and develops in cities from the Southern Urals to the Volga region.
Why did the drogeri chain from Tatarstan decide to develop a separate format of stationery stores, how was the idea of a loyalty program using bank plastic cards born and why the lack of staff turnover in stores can become a problem for the development of the retail chain? How did the attempt to enter the Moscow market end and how to convince customers to buy cosmetics in a household store? These and other issues were discussed with Dmitry Kalachev, co-founder of the "VPROK" and "Tsirkul" chains and Chairman of the Board of the Drogeri Union, within the framework of the #Retail 2023 expedition.
